Zone 1

Circle of Life

Circle, on one hand, represents the concept of "Tai Chi" in Taoist culture. In Chinese traditional culture, the circle symbolizes the interweaving of dualities and the ever-changing nature of all things. On the other hand, it is the source of all artistic pursuits - inspiration guides the "point" into space, forming lines, and then becoming infinite possibilities. The point is also an important symbol in the works of Hsiao Chin and the emblem of the "Punto International Art Movement" founded by the artist. The Punto (point) is closely related to Hsiao Chin’s artistic pursuits, symbolizing the artist’s dedication to finding deeper meanings in life through his original visual language.

Zone 3

Origin of Chi

In Chinese culture, Chi is the original energy embodied in nature. It flows through all things bringing them to life. Hsiao Chin manifests the omnipresent energy with such contemplative compositions. Since the early 1960s, Hsiao Chin has been exploring the concept of Chi, a vital energy in Taoism. Hsiao Chin’s brushstrokes and fluid compositions showcase ubiquitous cosmic energy. At times, the artist employs broad and graceful strokes to express the harmonious flow of Chi; at other times, he uses sharply contrasting geometric shapes to convey the intensity and power of grand life forces.

Zone 4

Space Travel

Enabled by Asia’s largest state of the art panoramic LED screen in Asia at MGM Theatre, the viewing experience in this zone not only stages an immersive journey of space travel, but also offers a wider angle to examine the influence of space exploration on the art creation of Hsiao Chin. The art film is divided into two parts: showcasing the changes of the Universal Energy series in two periods at one go: the first period demonstrates the “Punto International Art Movement” and the beginning of space race in the 1960s; followed by an era of rapid technological advancement from 1990s to 2000s. The artist’s interest in outer space was integrated into his pursuit in philosophy, which resulted in the formation of an infinite universe beyond the drawing canvas.

The Art Exhibition

Surveys more than six decades of artistic production of Hsiao Chin, bringing together his most critically acclaimed works and offering a rare chance to appreciate his masterpieces collected internationally all in one place, reflecting the museum quality and scope of the collection. This is also the first comprehensive exhibition of Hsiao Chin’s works from MGM’s chairman collection. The art exhibition area is located in the center of the entire exhibition, aiming to guide the audience through the works in a chronological curatorial approach, while telling the inspiring life story of the artist who has overcome endless struggles and achieved the pinnacle of spiritual realm. It brings hope and vitality to the audience and emphasizes the artist’s long-term dedication and extraordinary achievements in art.

Special Exhibition “To Infinity and Beyond: The Art of Hsiao Chin”

Being the first Chinese artist in the Western world to initiate an international art movement after World War II, Hsiao Chin, carries the essence of traditional Chinese philosophy to western cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Paris, London, and New York. His art embraces the energy and spirit of the universe, exports the power of love and blessings, express his passion for life, and makes outstanding contributions to the modernization of Chinese art. Throughout his life, Hsiao Chin constantly surpasses himself, reaching the highest realm of "Beyond Infinity". As the first multi-dimensional dynamic theater in Asia to introduce a viewing experience of 28 million pixels, the exhibition venue features a panoramic 900-square-meter ultra-high-definition 4K LED display screen and a revolutionary new curatorial concept called "ART-TECH-TAINMENT," which combines art, technology, and entertainment. The exhibition is divided into eight zones, which highlights the artist’s incredible art career and the universe. Visitors are invited to embark on an exciting, dazzling "Journey of the souls and dreams" through an exquisite art universe constructed by Hsiao Chin.

The exhibition is open daily from 12:00 to 21:00 with on-site guided tours available. Starting from the vibrant and colorful artistic energy of Hsiao Chin‘s physical masterpieces to multimedia interactive exploration, the exhibition explores a new curation concept of "ART-TECH-TAINMENT" created in the MGM Technology Blackbox, showcasing an artistic universe.

Merchandize

A series of creative daily life souvenirs, limited lithographs and prints, first launched by Hsiao Chin, integrate the artist‘s good wishes for life into the daily lives of people of different age groups.
